We had the pleasure of meeting Johnson and his family three years ago on their farm in Kenya. With the help of two irrigation pumps, Johnson turned a small plot into a large profitable enterprise, even exporting green beans to the UK twice-per-week.

We asked if we could meet his children and he said, “When they get done with school. I enrolled them in private tutoring.” He now farms on several acres, owns two homes and a motorbike. We asked about what he is most proud of.

He said without hesitation, “I employ 10-12 boys to help with harvest, so they not just standing around in the village. They have something to do, and can earn some money.”
