I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya in 1980.

At the age of 19, I moved to Corpus Christi, Texas on a golf scholarship to pursue a career in Computer Science. In Corpus Christi, I discovered my passion for providing opportunities where everyone rises up. I founded PowerUp.org in 2010 after appearing on the television show, “The Apprentice”.

I turned my love of automation and humanity into a fulfilling life, winning multiple awards for community engagement and consulting on talent development projects around the world.

I am very proud to be a #CityChampion serving my community as the Learning and Organizational Development Manager for the City of Corpus Christi.

I was recently excited to be part of the unveiling of a new brand called “Made in Corpus Christi!”

Made in Corpus Christi, LLC was established by the founder of WES:CC, the amazing Nikki Riojas, to build community, pride, and connections, right here in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have been a member of WES:CC since 2018 and I love it! It’s really amazing when you find your tribe. My love for this City goes beyond the fact that I really and truly feel like I did all my adult ‘growing up’ right here. All my leadership skills, business building, family finding, love for my best life is right here in my Corpus Christi!

Imagine yourself in Corpus Christi, the Sparkling City by the Sea. You are standing on the inlet just off the Gulf of Mexico, enjoying the vista of blue waters and fresh air. You look over and see our port, the fourth largest in the country. A little further and you see the city itself, home to over 300,000 of Texas’s finest. It’s an All-American City, the eighth largest in the state, the birdiest City in the United States, bustling with activity from our many industries, including being United States’ number one exporter of crude oil, our strong military presence and, of course, tourism. You might notice some of our 3,000 municipal employees hard at work, doing for our citizens what we do best, providing safety, security, and all the necessities of life, most importantly, providing hope to our children for a phenomenal future.
