Being a Support System

I just finished up a call with someone who needed my help. I am so happy right now because when we ended the call she said, “I’m so glad I made this phone call.” And as she was hanging up, I heard her say, “Oh My Gosh.” under her breathe. That is essentially what my life is all about.

I know the purpose of my life is to add value to anyone I come in touch with. I know this because i enjoy it very much! It’s like a rush!  I truly believe that everyone needs a support system, and I am so happy that I have a built a network of people in my community who me in that role and they refer people to me all the time.

I admit that sometimes when I get over 10 voicemails in a day and 20 emails, facebook messages, and linkedin messages, I feel a bit overwhelmed. I have a pretty strict way of running my day, so i make time to follow up and help where I can. I provide resources where I can, but most importantly I connect people to the information they are seeking, and the best part is that 9 times out of 10, they don’t even need my help continuously. They just need direction, or they need me to introduce them to someone else in my network who can move along or develop them further than I can.
